While the new Dogma F10 represents the latest, it doesn't represent Pinarello's lightest. That would be this: the bike ridden to victory by Tour de France winner Chris Froome, the remarkable Dogma F8 X-Light. Pinarello made only 200 of them for worldwide distribution, and R&A has acquired a large number of them. Click through to learn more about what makes the X-Light the X-Light, or of course, contact us directly to custom-build your very own.
When developing an ultra-light model, manufacturers often compromise the stiffness of that frame to achieve an impressively small number of grams. Not here. The X-Light frame is a full 80 grams lighter than the standard F8 – for a total of 780g – but is just as stiff.
See the Pinarello X-lightThe F8 X-Light uses the same proven molds as the standard F8, whose shape was derived from co-engineering the chassis with the experts at Jaguar. A full 47% less turbulent through the wind than the previous Dogma 65.1, the F8 achieves amazingly low drag without deeply raked tubing or a compromised ride.
See the Pinarello X-lightThough difficult to see by the untrained eye, the F8 X-Light also manifests Pinarello's belief in asymmetric frame construction for maximum efficiency. Pinarello understands that, because the driveside (and so driving forces) of the bike are on the right, the frame should therefore be built in a way to compensate for this to achieve perfect balance.
See the Pinarello X-lightSo dedicated to its mission as a serious racing frame is the F8 X-Light that it is literally limited to those that are in, as they say, "race shape." The X-Light is limited to riders of 155lbs. (70kg) or less, and available in sizes only up to 55cm.
