The story of how the Colnago C59 was developed and how it is assembled is just as compelling as the bike's performance. Over 40 prototypes of the C59 were tested before production began. Entirely handmade in Colnago's own factory in Italy, with hand-kept records of every step of the production process for each individual frame, all C59s are then shipped to Tuscany to be handpainted by local artists. The performance of the bike is equally as impressive, too. Stellar handling, a sublime ride, and a stiff chassis make the C59 equally capable on climbs, descents, or in the sprints.
The C59 is an all-time favorite here and R&A -- and we want everyone to see why -- which is the reason we've paired it up with a high-performance, high-value build. A Shimano Ultegra drivetrain, 3T Team cockpit, and Mavic Ksyrium wheelset will take the C59 high and far, while still leaving some money in your pocket.
The C59 epitomizes old-world ideology, but does so with cutting-edge technology, including proprietary innovations like double-walled forks, reinforced headtubes, and Colnago's signature "clover leaf" downtube, which contributes to high-end Colnagos' famous road feel.
After assembly, each frameset is shipped to Tuscany, to be painted by hand by local artisans. Why Tuscany? "Because that's where the real artists are," says Ernesto.
The C59 is entirely handmade in Colnago's factory in Cambiago, Italy, from start to finish after importing some of the finest carbon in the world from Japan. Every individual tube and lug is checked and cataloged during the assembly process of every single frameset.
For all the rigor of its production and the attention to detail of its makers, the Colnago C59 is also a stunning performer on the road. A ride that is smooth, a chassis that is stiff, and handling that is simply beautiful - these are the things that make the C59 one of the most inspiring machines we sell.
The greatest value of the C59 is our custom build: Shimano Ultegra drivetrain, 3T Pro cockpit, and Mavic Ksyrium wheelset.
