Lungavita Bike Information

Pinarello Lungavita Bike
Pinarello makes setting up a single-speed bike easy with the Lungavita. This is not a converted track bike, nor is it a slow commuter. It’s a bike possessing classic style, with road racing manners and a setup that’s friendly for city streets.

You’ve heard the term “fixie” thrown around. It’s short for “fixed-gear,” aka track bike. And this bike has a fixed-gear on one side of the rear flip-flop hub. The other side has a single-speed freewheel. Both are 18t and are driven by a 46-tooth chainring. If you want the fixed side, you’ll have your legs and two hand brakes to slow you down. If you want the free side, you’ll still have the two brakes. Safety and smarts are essential elements of style.

The rear wheel is fixed into rear fork tips via a solid-axle hub. The rear fork tips are another track bike feature: they are horizontal in orientation, replaceable, and allow you to not only remove the wheel but also adjust the chain tension by moving the position of the wheel.

Both front and rear wheels feature large-flange hubs and deep-dish aluminum rims. While both have function at their heart, they are very much employed for style-they’re both strong and look good.

The frame is fabricated out of 6061-T6 aluminum. It’s the go-to aluminum alloy, as it does everything well. The fork is made from carbon-fiber, providing ample comfort on rough city streets. The position the tubes put you in is one that is between a track bike and a road bike, it’s fast in traffic, and good at slicing turns, but still more stable than twitchy.

The seatpost and saddle come from Pinarello and are designed to look like take-offs from bikes of yore. These are complemented by the Pinarello block lettered logos and the head tube badge.

When you pilot the Pinarello Lungavita, you’ll be both retro-styling and fashion-forward while having a blast. Simple is better.
