680 - What is the significance of that number? It depends on context, of course. But in the context of a high performance bicycle frame, if it refers to the number of grams the frame weighs, that number becomes staggering. A full 100 grams lighter than the already-feathery Zero.7, the Wilier Zero.6’s weight is made all the more impressive when you realize that no sacrifices in performance were made to achieve such a figure. It still responds immediately, rides smoothly, and handles with precision and balance. It is a thing of beauty.
Ordinary carbon – even some of the most advanced in the world – wasn’t enough for Wilier’s engineers’ goals with the Zero.6, so they had to create and utilize entirely new materials to cycling. First, a material called Pitch is created from ultra-pure carbon, sourced directly from crude oil and/or carbon, so it’s as light and strong as possible.See the Wilier Zero.6 line
After Pitch is rendered, an SEI film is applied to craft Wilier’s proprietary Dialead carbon. It’s incredible strength and purity results in the Zero.6’s amazingly responsive performance at a jaw-dropping weight of only 680 grams.See the Wilier Zero.6 line
To further save weight, but also improve ride quality, the Zero.6 utilizes Wilier’s Swingarm construction of its rear triangle. No glues, joints, or special fasteners, all allowing engineers greater and more precise control over the rear wheel and the distribution of impact forces.See the Wilier Zero.6 line
Of course, the Wilier Zero.6 uses integrated internal cabling plates that allow for both electronic and mechanical drivetrains to be installed seamlessly and elegantly. The integrated fork’s construction not only improves lateral stiffness, but its shaping was inspired by the Wilier TwinBlade’s fork, also used on the Cento10Air, for superior aerodynamics.See the Wilier Zero.6 line
