Most of the cycling world is familiar with BMC’s stellar TeamMachine road bike – the bike on which the likes of Cadel Evans and others have won nearly countless major tour and classic titles. So what happens when the technology that earns that performance is aimed at the trail? You get the 2016 BMC Teamelite 01 hardtail 29er. Don’t assume it’s just some re-proportioned Teammachine tubes, however. The Teamelite 01 is a very different beast. It’s as razor-sharp as you expect a hardtail to be, but it employs an entirely unique carbon layup schedule, as well as a 142mm rear thru-axle, internal cable routing, and BMC’s new Micro Travel Technology on the rear end to offer a ride far smoother than you expect of a hardtail without giving up any responsiveness.
The Teamelite 01 showcases BMC’s new MTT, or Micro Travel Technology. An elastomer block insert near the seatstay junction allows for subtle travel along two concealed stanchions, reducing rider fatigue, improving comfort, and creating a hardtail experience unlike any other.See out BMC TeamElite 01 lineup
The Teamelite 01 also boasts internal cable routing for both mechanical and electronic drivetrains. Internally routing the cables keeps things aesthetically cleaner, improves reliability, and reduces the likelihood of crippling damage in the event of an accident.See out BMC TeamElite 01 lineup
BMC’s revolutionary Teammachine has proven its technical superiority on podiums around the world. Helping get it there is the wide, strong 92mm press-fit bottom bracket – the very same you’ll find on the Teamelite 01 hardtail, making it one of the most responsive and efficient bikes on the trail.See out BMC TeamElite 01 lineup
Making 29er geometry work for everyone can be tricky. To ensure that the smallest riders can take advantage of Teamelite 01’s performance, the top tube shape of the Extra Small Teamelite 01 is kinked for greater standover clearance, meaning even the shortest riders can comfortably take control.See out BMC TeamElite 01 lineup
