Garmin Edge 520 Plus MTB Bundle Cycling Computer
Garmin’s Edge 520 Plus adds quite a bit to the Edge 520, which itself was pretty impressive. The Plus mainly refers to the fact that maps are included in the unit’s programming and they can be seen in full color on the screen. Thanks to the maps, you can also get rider alerts when paired with your smart phone.

The unit maintains it’s fairly small shape, but packs a big punch. It measures 73mm wide by 49mm long by 21mm thick. Weight is 62.5g. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 15 hours. It has actual buttons on the sides for positive engagement with or without gloves.

It’s pretty much what you should expect from Garmin. GPS and GLONASS signals to make sure locations are pinpoint accurate. The ability to pick up ANT+ signals from powermeters, cadence sensors, speed sensors, lights (like Garmin’s Varia), and cameras (like their Virb). It can even communicate with Di2 shifting. In addition to the usual performance metrics, including IF and TSS, the unit can also determine fitness via recovery time and VO2 max. Pages are built by the user via Garmin’s Connect IQ, where it also syncs easily with Strava, and can provide training advice via Best Bike Split and TrainingPeaks. It even works with the Trailforks app to find routes and ride them offline.

There are three versions. The first is the Standard and it includes: the unit, out front mount, handlebar/stem mount, tether, USB cable, and manual. There’s the Sensor Bundle: unit, out front mount, handlebar/stem mount, tether, USB cable, manual, speed sensor, cadence sensor, and heart rate monitor. There’s the MTB Bundle: unit, MTB mount, silicone case, Edge remote, tether, USB cable, and manual.

The Garmin Edge 520 Plus packs lots of tech into a small, easy-to-use head unit.
