Pinarello Marvel Ultegra Bike

If you're looking at the Pinarello Marvel, and think it looks very similar to the Paris 50.1, you have a good eye. These frames some out of the same molds. So the sizes are the same, the tubing profiles are the same, the geometries are the same. The bike is just as asymmetric to resist the forces put on it. The bike is just as aerodynamic at the fork and down tube. The only change is the carbon-fiber plies utilized. The Marvel employs 30HM12K, 30-ton high modulus 12000 fibers per weft, a very durable weave. This makes the Marvel a great deal for you.

The Marvel is derived from the Paris, which is derived from the Dogma. The lineage should make clear that these bikes largely share the same ride. The Marvel rides almost identically to the Paris thanks to the only difference being the carbon-fiber; a nice savings and a minimal increase in weight. So you get a great-riding race bike that takes comfort for the long haul as a feature of equal value to a balanced geometry that makes the bike a superb all-rounder.

Pinarello has built this bike up with eleven-speed Shimano Ultegra Di2 componentry. Ultegra Di2 feels just like Dura Ace Di2 thanks to the fact that the shifting is electronic. The ergonomic levers will feel the same in your hands and shift with exactly the same force. The gears are a nice wide-ranging 52/36 crank and 11-25 cassette.

Finishing off the bike are selections from Pinarello's MOst component line. Pinarello employs these parts as a way of providing components that not only interact well with what they've built, but save the rider a bundle in the process. They're also parts you'll find riders on the ProTour Movistar team using.

Behind the scenes, there are several features that will do you well for the future. First is the Think2 internal routing of cables. This bike comes electronic, but it might not be something you're ready to commit to for life. So with Think2, you can just pull the electronic wiring and install cabling if you decide down the line that mechanic shifting is your preference. Likewise, Pinarello employed the PressFit30 bottom bracket standard. If you choose to use a PF30 crank with an over-sized spindle in the future, you'll be ready for that option as well.
